Assam: HM Shah to sign new accord on Bodoland today
GUWAHATI | JAN 27, 2020:
The central government is all set to sign an accord for the third time on the Bodoland issue, the Bodo accord will be signed at around 1:30PM today.
In the tripartite agreement which is to be signed, the Union government will be represented by Home Minister Amit Shah along with the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, factions of rebel group National Democratic Front of Bodoland and the All Bodo Students' Union. The meeting will also be attended by the Union Home Secretary Satyendra Garg and Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna.
This agreement aims at restoring peace and tranquillity in the region by granting special economic and politics provisions to the people of Bodoland.
