Assam: Heavy landslide disrupts train services at Dima Hasao

Haflong: The trains running in the hill region were affected today following heavy landslide with rocks on railway track in between Phiding and Mahur Railway station in Dima Hasao district of Assam.

The slip was caused cause due to incessant rain since last night leading to several hours delay. The 13174 UP train was controlled at New Haflong railway station, 13175 DN controlled between Dauthuhaja Rly station – Phiding  section at km 77/7 while the 55616 UP was controlled at Mahur railway station.

On the other hand, the railway authorities rushed to the spot and reinstalled the tracks. It was also informed that train services had resumed for now till the filing of this report.

However it is feared that if the rain continues, there may be possibilities of more landslides in the hill areas between Lumding and Badarpur.
