Assam: Guwahati lad in top 3 for two subtitles in Mr Model of the World

Guwahati, September 4, 2018: Guwahati lad Dipankar Talukdar who is representing India in the Mister Model of the World pageant being held at Myanmar, has already won hearts of the judges and contestants alike in the run to the Grand Finale of the pageant. Bringing cheer to the nation, Dipankar has been selected among the Top 3 contestants for two subtitles- 'Best Model' and 'Best in Swimwear'. The ultimate winners of the subtitles will be announced in the grand finale to be held tomorrow, i.e. on September 5.

25-year-old Dipankar Talukdar won the Mr India title at the finale event held at Bengaluru in the first week of March. The pageant show was directed by Akshay Raichurkar, who also groomed the models besides himself being the director of several international beauty pageants. Dipankar will now fight against contestants from 15 countries in the grand finale tomorrow hoping to bring the winner's crown to Assam.

Dipankar landed in Myanmar on August 29 and has since, participated in various photo shoots, subtitle contests, heritage visits to various sites etc, as a part of the contest. Speaking about his first day Myanmar, Dipankar said, "I had dinner with my co-contestants and the event officials on the evening of my arrival, where we exchanged stories and gifts that from our native lands. Being a proud Assamese, I knew that there could be no better than our beautiful Axomiya gamusa, which I respectfully offered to all the contestants and event officials. It made my heart swell with pride to see them adorning it so gracefully".

The Mister Model of the World pageant envisaged to be a foundation for handsome and smart men, who have the passion and commitment to show the beauty of the world, through fashion, culture, heritage and values, while promoting peace and their individual advocacies.
