Assam: Gogoi adamant Congress will win BTC election
GUWAHATI: As Congress began its campaign for the BTC polls in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, chief minister Tarun Gogoi was adamant that the party will emerge victorious in the coming election.
Addressing a huge public gathering at Dwimalu field in Kokrajhar, Gogoi said that BJP has been trying to capture power in the BTC by participating in the council election, but people should know that it has failed to fulfill its commitment.
He added that neither the prices of essential commodities are coming down nor development is taking place, which is contrary to Modi's promise that 'good days are coming'.
"BTC's development started only when Congress come to power 14 years ago. The BTC was created by us and so we took care of it. Now, we (Congress) will win all 40 seats of BTC and if we come to power in the council, we will work for the development of all communities," he said, adding that Congress will emerge victorious even in the 2016 assembly election.
