Assam: Bodoland Peoples’ Front to field Pramila Rani Brahma from Kokrajhar for lone BTC seat

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019, the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) will be fielding Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma from Kokrajhar for its lone seat of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

Pramila Rani Brahma became minister in Sarbananda Sonowal led government in 2016. She was also minister in Tarun Gogoi government until 2014. She was elected for the sixth straight time from the Kokrajhar East constituency.

The formal announcement about her being fielded was made by BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary at Julee maidan at Barama in Baksa District.

The BJP which is an ally of the BPF has decided not to field any candidate from the Constituency and leave it for the BPF.

It may be mentioned that the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency is now being represented by independent MP Naba Kr Sarania.
