Assam: Australian university to help build affordable houses in state
ASSAM: A joint research team which comprises of the Assam Engineering College, IIT- Guwahati and University of Melbourne, Australia is working on a project to build eco-friendly and affordable housing. The project is sponsored by the Assam government.
The emphasis of the project will be on housing construction processes, efficiencies, inefficiencies etc…The project is being led by Hemanta Doloi who is a faculty member in Melbourne University.
There will also be a programme where 8 academic scholars from the state will be visiting Melbourne University in order to be trained in construction management.
