Arunachal Pradesh CM tests negative for COVID-19

ITANAGAR | SEPT 18, 2020:

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu tested negative for Covid-19 on Thursday after having tested positive on September 15.

Khandu, who is undergoing home isolation in New Delhi, took to his official Twitter handle and posted the following tweet, "I had undertaken a repeat Covid19 RT-PCR test yesterday. Because of the wishes and prayers of each one of you, I am glad to inform you that I have tested NEGATIVE. Thank you all. #WearMask #StaySafe."

Meanwhile, apart from Khandu, seven other lawmakers of the state tested positive for Covid-19 including Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang, Education Minister Taba Tedir, BJP state unit President Biyuram Wahge and state BJP general secretary Zingnu Namchoom.

Two other MLAs who tested positive include Jummon Ete Deori and Dorjee Wangdi Kharma.

The state's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 6,851, with 1,871 active cases.

Besides this, 4,967 people have recovered while thirteen others succumbed to the virus.
