ITANAGAR | AUG 20, 2020:

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the Center's decision to set up a National Recruitment Agency.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved setting up of an NRA to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment to non-gazetted posts in Government and public sector banks.

Hailing the decision, Khandu said the move will benefit poor candidates as in the present system, they have to appear in multiple examinations conducted by multiple agencies.

He said they have to incur expenditure on examination fees, travel, boarding, lodging, and other things.

He added that the single examination is expected to reduce the financial burden on such candidates.
