Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona has said that the Assembly is trying to do away with the use of single-use plastics, which is hazardous to the environment and put into use the bio-degradable, eco-friendly things.
The four-day Assembly session which started yesterday is using eco-friendly items like Thermos flask for serving water to the members and bio-degradable plates for snacks and tea in the Secretariat premises.
Speaking to media persons, Mr. Sona said that the State Govt is making all-out efforts to stop the use of non-degradable plastics in the State in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a plastic-free India.
