Arunachal: No survivors in AN-32 crash, confirms IAF

ITANAGAR | June 13, 2019:

All the 13 occupants onboard the AN-32 aircraft, which went missing since June 3 and wreckage found on June 11, died in the crash.

Confirming this, the Indian Air Force informed that there are no survivors from the crash of AN-32. The same was determined by the eight members of the rescue team who reached the crash site on Thursday morning.

The IAF men who lost their life in the tragic An-32 crash included – W/C GM Charles, S/L H Vinod, F/L R Thapa, F/L A Tanwar, F/L S Mohanty, F/L MK Garg, WO KK Mishra, Sgt Anoop Kumar, Cpl Sherin, LAC SK Singh, LAC Pankaj, NC(E) Putali & NC(E) Rajesh Kumar.

In its tweets, IAF wrote, "IAF pays tribute to the brave Air-warriors who lost their life during the #An32 crash on 03 Jun 2019 and stands by with the families of the victims. May their soul rest in peace."

On Tuesday, the IAF had spotted the wreckage of the missing AN-32 aircraft 16 km north of Lipo, northeast of Tato, at an approximate elevation of 12,000 feet with the help of an IAF Mi-17 helicopter undertaking search in the expanded area.

The transport aircraft took off on June 3 from the Jorhat airbase in Assam for the Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground in Arunachal Pradesh's Shi-Yomi district bordering China.
