Arunachal: COVID-19 protocols violated on Labour Day

A programme celebrating National Labour Day in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh witnessed a mass violation of several COVID-19 guidelines and protocols as attendees were seen flouting social distancing norms and without face masks.

The programme, organised by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on Thursday, was held at the JN College grounds in Pasighat.

According to an earlier media report, musical groups performed without masks and numerous labourers in the audience failed to maintain proper social distancing.

On being asked to comment on the matter, the Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Mama Natung, who was present during the programme, firmly maintained that all guidelines and protocols were being followed.

We may note that a person can be fined up to Rs. 500 in Itanagar if caught without a mask in public.
