Itanagar July 3, 2017: Breakthrough come way to the murder of  Arunachal Congress leader Hiranya Doley as  three members of Liberal Democratic Council of Misingland (LDCM) were arrested by Assam Police in connection with the case.

The Leader was shot dead at this residence on June 24 at his residence at Dekapam near Assam-Arunachal boundary.

The assailants who were identified as Amitab Patir (28), Satya Kumbang (34) and Kangkan Morang (30) of Dekapam under Jonai sub-division were arrested from Moonmuni Chapori, around 16 km from Jonai in the morning of June 30, informed Dhemaji Superintendent of Police Nilesh Sawakare.

A 7.65mm pistol and six live cartridges were seized from their possession.

The trio has reportedly confessed their involvement in the crime before police with Amitab Patir being the shooter.

The Assam police have arrested nine members of the outfit, including three linkmen, so far.

Last month, the police of Dhemaji unit had arrested three LDCM cadres, namely Kumar Kutum, Govinda Pegu and Harish Pegu from Simenchapori area.

They served extortion notices to three officers, including a junior engineer serving under Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) at Gogamukh.

According to police, there might be 30 to 35 cadres in the outfit, who are positioned in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Majuli and Jorhat districts.

The outfit was reportedly formed in October 2009 to demand "free Mising land". A month later, Self-Style Commander-in-chief of the outfit, Ruhan Patir sent the first batch of 12 youths from Dhemaji district for undergoing training in a National Democratic Front of Bodoland camp on the Assam-Arunachal border in Assam's Sonitpur district.

The Assam Police arrested LDCM chief, Patir at Tezpur (Sonitpur) in 2012 along with some incriminating documents.

Meanwhile, emergence of Mising rebel organization demanding Mising land without community support has evoked massive concern among the people.

Reacting to the recent arrests of the LDCM members and their involvement in killing of innocent people, Takam Mising Porin Kebang President, Naresh Kumbang said that peace-loving Mising people would never tolerate such pro-insurgency activities. He alerted the community members not to give shelter them under any circumstances.
