ITANAGAR: All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has warned that it will stall the proceedings of the assembly if the government fails to bring a bill on Chakma-Hajong refugee imbroglio in the floor of the house.
The students' organization has long been complaining about the uncaring attitude of the state over the contentious issue.
The announcement of the apex students' body came at a time when the state is passing through a political turmoil involving governor J P Rajkhowa. "We will not allow the assembly session to function normally till the government introduces a bill to oppose settlement of refugees in the state," AAPSU president Kamta Lapung said.
The union's executive panel that met here on Friday, unanimously resolved to press the government to introduce a bill in the assembly on the refugee settlement issue.
