2nd Division I-League: Mohammedan Sporting, Langsning FC held in goalless draw

Shillong, April 10: Meghalayas's Langsning FC and Mohammedan Sporting held out a goalless draw in their Second Division League Group C match in Kolkata on Monday.

Mohammedan Sporting comes after losing to TRAU 4-0 in their third match while Langsning went into the game with the same starting XI that won 3-1 at Jamshedpur FC reserves. Both teams battled in the hot and humid weather of 'The City of Joy' only to witness several missed opportunities on the field.

The visitors' efforts paid off in defence as they consistently thwarted the attacks of Mohammedan, who had within their ranks Ethiopian forward Fikru Teferra.

The Kolkata giants remain in the third position in the group table with seven points from four matches. Langsning, on the other hand, are at the second position with eight points from five matches

This was the first goalless draw in Group C, but it should give Langsning a further boost in confidence, as they will return to Shillong after being unbeaten in two away matches. Mohammedan Sporting, on the other hand, may be disappointed that they could not use their home advantage to secure a win.

However, Langsning will once again face Mohammedan Sporting, this time at home, on Friday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 4PM.
