2 arrested with 3.1 kg opium in Arunachal Pradesh
ITANAGAR | May 15, 2020:
Arunachal Pradesh police on Wednesday arrested two persons and seized 3.1 kg opium from Namchik Tea garden in Changlang district.
Based on intelligence inputs regarding the movement of drug traffickers, the anti-drug squad team led by Inspector KM Das intercepted two motorcycle-borne traffickers, police said on Thursday.
Opium weighing 3.1 kg was recovered from their possession the police said.
During interrogation they confessed that they had purchased the opium from a Myanmarese citizen near the Indo- Myanmar border.
However, a case has been registered at Kharsang police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
