NGO complains about ‘pathetic’ road condition along Trans-Arunachal Highway

ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on Tuesday, appealed to the highway authorities over the deplorable road condition of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) project in western Arunachal between ITBP Gate at Tikdo to Potin.

ANYA general secretary Bengia Tada said, “There is no proper drainage system or a retaining wall in this stretch of the TAH,” as reported by Arunachal Times.

“The Kala Mitti portion needs to be diverted as commuters face untold miseries during the rainy season.”

“The Nyishi Heritage Village land was washed away due to wrong construction and poor maintenance of the road,” said Nyishi Elite Society president Bengia Tolum.

Meanwhile, Executive Engineer Doimukh Division (Highway) Gyati Anda informed that the contract was given to M/s BK construction for Rs 9.15 crore on 12 September 2020.

Anda also informed that they have apprised the contractor to complete the project at the earliest.
