Miss Arunachal 2020 spearheads justice rally for murder victim Techi Meena

ITANAGAR: To stand in solidarity with the murder of late Techi Meena and her unborn baby, the winner of Miss Arunachal Beauty Contest 2020, Miss Tokmem Mengu in collaboration with All East Siang District Students' Union and All Bogong Students' Union organised a flashlight vigil cum general awareness program in Pasighat, on January 16.

Hundreds of students and other social groups such as Adi Baane Kebang Women Wing (ABKWW), advocates, AAPSU General Secretary Tobom Dai, Tai Roket, MD Miss Arunachal Organisation, and the family members of late Techi Meena, participated in the flashlight march that started from D. Ering Higher Secondary School ground and concluded at Gandhi Chowk Pasighat main market.

The speakers also appealed the state government to speed up the investigation and demanded capital punishment for the murderers of late Techi Meena.

The public also demanded speedy justice for late Techi Meena.

ABKWW also pointed out the side-effects of polygamy in the society, at the gathering.

Late Techi, who was seven months pregnant, was found dead inside an SUV on November 5, 2020.

Reportedly, her husband Roni confessed that he had made plans to murder her.

Roni is also the son of a former legislator.
