Illegal fishing and hunting prohibited in Arunachal's Papum Pare

The Papum Pare district administration has prohibited illegal and unregulated fishing, destruction of forest, hunting and extraction of natural resources.

The district administration also stated that violators would be dealt with immediate effect.

Referring to the order, district magistrate, Pige Ligu said, "It has been noticed that large scale illegal fishing, forest destruction, hunting and extraction of natural resources are taking place within Papum Pare district."

"The preservation of the natural beauty and its rich flora and fauna is the moral responsibility of each and every citizen of the district."

“Forest destruction, illegal hunting, fishing and mining are serious concerns and causing ecological imbalances in the rich flora & fauna of the region. All such activities are hereby prohibited in Papum Pare District until further notice,” stated the order.
