Arunachal Pradesh: Rajiv Gandhi University celebrates 38th Foundation Day

ITANAGAR: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) commemorated its 38th foundation day at its university campus in Rono Hills, Itanagar on Thursday.

Governor and Chief Rector of RGU, BD Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu as the chief guest, and NEHU Vice-Chancellor Professor SK Srivastava attended the event, among others.

RGU VC Saket Kushwaha, in his opening speech, talked on introducing smart classes for various departments, financial help of Rs 2,000 per year to its contractual staffers, and promotion of assistant professors.

He appealed to the students, administration body, and the teachers and staff to work with dedication so that RGU becomes one of the best universities in the nation.

North-Eastern Hill University Vice Chancellor Professor Srivastava said, “The teaching faculty should explore various policy research and its opportunities.”

Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the University for securing second in UGC rankings and said that the government will offer any assistance from its side.

The event also awarded the health workers for their help during the pandemic,.

The farewell ceremony for the staffers retiring this year was also held.
