Arunachal Pradesh: New mayor calls for corruption-free Itanagar Municipal Corporation

ITANAGAR: The newly appointed Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Tame Phassang, on Wednesday, chaired his first municipal conference at the DK Convention Hall, Itanagar.

Addressing a gathering of new members, IMC members, police, MLAs and other officers, he said, "Following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, corruption in any form in the IMC will not be tolerated.”

According to the Arunachal Times, Phassang assured to work for the welfare of the IMC and warned against any attempt to turn Corporation into an agency that favours personal projects.

"No personal projects will be entertained in the IMC," he said.

"An environment of equality, peace and harmony should be our agenda, and if each one of us maintains this mantra, definitely Itanagar would be one of the best capitals in the country," he added.

Meanwhile, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso congratulated the newly elected members, and appealed the IMC to work with team spirit irrespective of party differences.
