PASIGHAT:

To raise greenery and to beautify the surrounding premises, the Government School of Nursing (GNM) conducted a plantation programme as part of the farewell programme for outgoing GNM students.

Unlike the usual, customary farewell programmes, the celebration of the farewell this year was unique, innovative and was organised by the Principal of the school, Natel Jamoh Mize.

During the plantation programme, they allowed each outgoing student to plant a tree sapling in their name as part of their ceremonial farewell.

One student, Elly Taggu, expressed her joy and was delighted to plant trees on their farewell programme, which she considered a contribution towards Mother Nature.

“As a third-year student passing out from the school, we are delighted that our teachers this year have organised a plantation programme for us which is a noble cause toward the beautification of the school premises and also to regulate growing cases of global warming. On this occasion, I also welcome the freshers of our Nursing school,” said Taggu.

Natel Jamoh Mize said that they organised the plantation programme for the passing out students, and for the larger cause of the people.

As nurses cannot give care of health to all, planting trees will indirectly help all by enhancing the beauty of the HTRC premises and by providing shade to people during hot summer days, she said.
