A group of middle-aged men nicknamed ‘Radang Sirum’ of Borguli village in Namsing (East Siang), Arunachal Pradesh extended their help to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Borguli in repairing and maintenance of the fencing on Friday.

The group of men repaired the fence by each contributing a piece of bamboo.

The PHC of Borguli, which has no proper fencing wall to date, faces a lot of problems from straying cattle, a member of the group, Bolet Tayeng said.

The bamboo fencing of the hospital was destroyed and damaged by trespassing cattle and needed immediate repairing to keep the lone hospital of the area clean and protected.

The PHC treats patients from Borguli, Kiyit, Ngopok, Seram villages which are one of the most malaria-prone areas during monsoon season (agricultural season) as these villages are wetland agricultural zones.

The Primary Health Centre, Borguli, is one of the oldest health centres in Mebo Sub-Division after Community Health Centre, Mebo.

Meanwhile, the PHC that is running shortages of manpower still awaits posting of new staff.
