ITANAGAR:

The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Itanagar stated the capital administration conducted eviction drives from the outer ring road of the SP office to the ESS Sector, in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh since Saturday.

"The eviction drive is being conducted to widen roads and will continue for a few more days," Potom told reporters on Sunday.

"Twenty structures, including boundary walls, semi and permanent structures, were demolished on Saturday. Today we demolished 70 structures falling under the notified RoW. After a gap of a few days, the eviction will again resume in this stretch of the road," said Potom.

"Whichever structure falls inside the notified RoW will be dismantled and evicted in the coming days. We will do the eviction in over 30 km stretch of the road falling in sectors and colonies, and also along the Jully-Chimpu road."

He warned the people living along the road-side to be careful before setting up any construction and seek legal permission from the district authorities.

He also added that they would intensify the eviction drive across the capital in the coming days. (With inputs from Arunachal Times)
