ITANAGAR: The Government of Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday, handed over the Vijaynagar Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Changlang to the Karuna trust.

They handed over the PHC in a ceremony attended by Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang and Urban Development Minister Kamlung Mosang.

“The state government has decided to handover the Vijaynagar PHC to Karuna trust with the sole motive of improving (the) health service in the remote circle,” Libang said.

“We hope that they will deliver better medical services to the people of the circle,” he added.

Vijaynagar MLA Kamlung Mosang also said that they faced hardships in deploying doctors and nurses to the PHC, because of the poor road conditions.

“With NGO Karuna trust taking over the operations of the PHC, people are hoping that sufficient doctors, medical staff and medicines will be available,” he said.

Others present during the ceremony included Changlang Deputy Commissioner Devansh Yadav and other district officials.
