The much delayed Hotel Crowborough is likely to be completed either on March or April next year.

This was informed by Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) chairman, Comingone Ymbon, who inspected the progress of the work here on Wednesday.

“I have been told that the project will be completed either on March or April next year,” Comingone informed. He said that the MIDC had sanctioned a loan of Rs 45 crore to the firm and that the MIDC has already released an amount of Rs 30 crore for the project.

“They would release the remaining loan depending on the progress. The firm who is implementing the project would have to repay the loan amount within ten years once the project is commissioned,” added Ymbon.

According to Comingone, all the major work of the project has already been completed. “The firm is now awaiting the furniture which they have ordered from China,” MIDC chairman said.

Hotel Crowborough has partnered with French-based Accor hotel groups and Novotel the internationally acclaimed hotel brand from Accor group. It is the first time that the hotel franchisee from France will make its debut in the capital city. The hotel can provide jobs to 150 people as informed by the project-in-charge.

The Hotel Crowborough when completed will have nine floors with eight economy rooms, 58 standard rooms, 30 deluxe rooms, five suites, one banquet hall, one coffee shop beside a parking lot.
