Unlock 5.0 extended to November 30th

The Central Government, on Wednesday, informed that it would extend the guidelines concerning the reopening of activities issued on September 30 till the end of November this year.

The Centre also informed that different states and union territories should decide on the reopening of schools, various institutes, hotels, and other public and religious places based on the assessment of the situation and subject to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

It will also allow cinema halls and theatres to open at 50 per cent their full capacity.

Swimming pools, exhibition halls for business functions, and gatherings in closed and open spaces will be allowed with strict observance of SOPs.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs cautioned that while normalcy is improving, people should adhere to health protocols.

Except for heavily populated areas, the Centre has permitted the reopening of public places in less affected areas.

The Central Government also informed that containment zones would be under the purview of the lockdown till the end of November.
