YANGON:

Three more people were reported dead in a protest led by hundreds of Myanmar citizens after a deadly overnight crackdown in Mandalay on Friday.

According to sources, 20 people were also reported injured in the crackdown.

The military had banned holding vigils in honour of those killed since they seized power.

Notably, the junta had deployed large forces to stop daily protests since the February 1 coup.

On the other hand, thousands of people are still protesting and are demanding the release of civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
