NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary on Saturday.

"Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as the nation commences his 125th birth anniversary celebrations. It is befitting to celebrate this day as “Parakram Diwas” to honour his boundless courage & valour. Netaji instilled the fervour of nationalism among his countless followers," tweeted President Ram Nath Kovind.

"Netaji is one of our most beloved national heroes who made extraordinary contribution to India's freedom struggle. Netaji’s patriotism and sacrifice shall always inspire us. We are committed to strengthen the spirit of freedom so strongly espoused by him," he added.

"Dear sisters and brothers of West Bengal, I am honoured to be in your midst, that too on the auspicious day of #ParakramDivas. During the programmes in Kolkata, we will pay tributes to the brave Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose," tweeted PM Modi.

"The courage and valour of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose gave new strength to the Indian freedom struggle. He organised the youngsters of the country with his charismatic leadership under adverse circumstances. On the 125th birth anniversary of such a great hero of the freedom movement, I pay my heartfelt tributes," Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted.
