No resolution in government-farmers meet, next round on January 19

NEW DELHI:

The ninth round of meeting between the government and farmers ended in New Delhi on Friday with no resolution.

During the meeting, the government urged the farmer’s union to form an informal group among themselves and prepare concrete proposals for discussion in the next meeting.

Agricultural Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar informed that even after a detailed discussion with the union leaders, a decisive decision could not be taken on the matter.

The meeting lasted for almost four hours, resulting in a stalemate situation again.

The two sides have therefore agreed to meet again on January 19 at 12 pm for a solution.

The Supreme Court had earlier put a hold on the farm laws and ordered the central government to solve the matter at the earliest.
