Man stops water cannons meant at farmers' protest, wins praises on social media

NEW DELHI

A young man became an icon of the farmers' protest after a video of him stopping the water cannons went viral on social media, on Friday.

The farmers from Punjab were heading towards Delhi and faced-off with the police at the Shambhu interstate border in Haryana.

Police were stationed, with water cannons projected towards the advancing farmers.

While the police tried to stop the protesters with the water cannons, Navdeep Singh, in a video was caught, blocking the water cannons thereby paving the way for the farmers.

Singh won a lot of applauds for his acts.
