India records highest single-day spike in 85 days with 26,291 fresh COVID-19 cases

NEW DELHI:

India, on Monday, recorded the highest single-day spike in 85 days with 26,291 fresh COVID-19 cases.

According to the Union Health Ministry, this takes the total number of cases in the country to 1,13,85,339.

The death toll increased to 1,58,725. The total active caseload has gone up to 1.93 per cent of the total infections in the country, while the recovery rate has dropped to 96.68 per cent. The case fatality rate stood at 1.39 per cent.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have recovered from the infection surged to 1,10,07,352.
