Congress leader shot dead by six men in Madhya Pradesh

CHHATARPUR:

Congress leader Indra Pratap Singh Parmar (45) was allegedly shot dead by six men in Badamalhara, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday.

According to police reports, Parmar, the party president of Ghuvara block, was shot by six men riding two-wheelers.

Following the incident, bystanders took him to the hospital, but doctors declared him “brought dead.”

On learning about his demise, family members and party workers reportedly created a commotion at the hospital.

Police suspect that the motive behind the attack could be “an old enmity.”

Condemning the attack, state Congress president Kamal Nath formed a six-member committee to look into the matter and submit a report at the earliest.

Following a preliminary investigation, a case was registered against the accused, Hakim Singh, Mor Pal Singh, Hardev Singh, Imrat Lodhi, Ramkripal Lodhi, and Haricharan Lodhi, the district’s superintendent of police (SP) Sachin Sharma informed.

Meanwhile, police announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information on the assailants.
