NEW DELHI

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has put up tentative dates for the class XIIth board practical exams 2020-21, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Although there have been speculations of postponement or cancellation based on the COVID Index, the board is said to conduct the said exams between January 1 and February 8 tentatively.

"The board exams will happen for sure, and we will announce a schedule very soon. The CBSE is making plans and will soon reveal how it will do test assessments," board secretary Anurag Tripathi said during a webinar on New Education Policy (NEP), under the theme, "Brighter future of school education".

The webinar was organised by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), on Friday.

The reply by the CBSE comes after demands from various sections for the postponement of the proposed exams, considering the rise in COVID-19 cases across the country.

The states of Maharashtra and Gujarat have already postponed the exams until May 2021.
