Bird flu on the rise in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala & Himachal Pradesh

NEW DELHI: Bird flu has reportedly spread across the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

The respiratory disease caused by avian influenza has spread in the said states and killed hundreds of birds in past weeks, sources confirmed.

Preventive measures have started immediately since the flu can also pose a threat to human beings.

Rajasthan witnessed about 170 deaths of birds on Monday, taking the total death toll of birds to about 425 in the state.

Kerala has also decided to slaughter 40,000 birds to restrict the widespread of the flu.

The Himachal Pradesh government has also banned the sale of chicken and other poultry products, including fish in Kangra district.
