A new dawn awaits through PM-WANI Wi-Fi in India

 |

NEW DELHI: The Union cabinet on December 9, decided to expand Wi-Fi access in all the public places across the country, giving the term “PM-WANI” to the installation.

The move was a step forward to propel the Digital India programme, with the motive to ease business activities in the country, reported The Financial Express.

The primary reason behind the Broadband enhancement is to provide disposable income to small and medium entrepreneurs easing their business amid COVID-19.

It is reported that the establishment, maintenance, and operations are said to be handled by the Public Data Office (PDO). While Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA) will handle the functions of authorization and accounting.

For the public to access WANI, an Application is also said to be created for registration and queries related to the service.
