23 Christians in Karnataka convert to Hinduism in BJP MP's presence

"The conversion of the Dalits and tribals to Christianity will be opposed tooth and nail. I request those who are converting Hindus to desist or face the repercussions."

KARWAR:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Sunday, held a ceremony in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district that witnessed the conversion of 23 people from five Christian families to Hinduism.

BJP MP Anant Kumar Hegde presided over the ceremony while former BJP MLA Suneel Hegde handed a saffron flag each to those who converted.

“Most of these families are poor and do not know (about) the conversion to other religions. The conversion of the Dalits and tribals to Christianity will be opposed tooth and nail. I request those who are converting Hindus to desist or face the repercussions,” the former BJP MLA said.

"The MP will continue to lead the campaign in the district," he added.
