YouTube will lift ban on Donald Trump’s channel when the risk of violence decreases

SAN FRANCISCO:

The suspension on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s YouTube channel will be lifted only when the risk of real-world violence decreases, the company’s CEO, Susan Wojcicki, said on Thursday.

YouTube suspended Former President Donald Trump’s channel in violation of policies against inciting violence during the storming of the United States Capitol by Trump’s supporters in January.

“The channel remains suspended because of the risk of incitement to violence,” said Wojcicki, during an interview with the Atlantic Council think tank.

She added that the recent warnings by the Capitol police about a potential fresh attack on Thursday showed that an “elevated violence risk remains.”
