WASHINGTON:

The leaders of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue or Quad will hold their first summit this month.

The summit will be attended by the leaders of four “Quad” bloc countries, namely India, Australia, the USA and Japan, sources informed on Friday.

The meeting would focus on Indo-Pacific engagement for international co-operation.

It would also draw upon other agendas, especially related to the Asian countries.

“The Quad is very central to the United States and our thinking about the region, and looking at the Indo-Pacific also through the prism of our ASEAN partners and their vision of the Indo-Pacific,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, referring to the 10-member Association of Southeast Asia Nations.
