China: Over 400 flights cancelled following worst sandstorm in decades

BEIJING:

China, on Monday, cancelled hundreds of flights after the North region of the country witnessed the worst sandstorm in decades.

Over 400 flights were cancelled before noon.

The National Meteorological Centre forecasted the sand and dust would affect 12 provinces and regions from Xinjiang.

“This is the most intense sandstorm weather our country has seen in 10 years, as well as covering the broadest area,” the centre posted on its official website.
