Will Meghalaya impose another lockdown as situation becomes uncontrollable?

Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister, Alexander Laloo Hek has hinted that the State might go for another lockdown given the grim situation due to the spike of COVID-19 cases.
Talking to reporters here today, Hek said that the Government, during the review meeting may likely decide to impose another lockdown.
According to Hek, the feedback which they have received from medical experts seems like there will be another lockdown in the state.
He further stated that the final decision in this regard will be taken after analyzing the suggestions and views of the medical experts.
Admitting that the situation is getting uncontrollable, Hek said that the Government will try its best to control the situation. However, he maintained that there is no community spread even though Meghalaya is heading in that direction.
On the death of the 67-year-old lady from Shillong on Thursday evening, he said that the patient passed yesterday at NEIGRIHMS after she was suffering from severe respiratory problems adding that the daughter of the old lady was also positive. According to Hek, there is no travel history of both the mother and daughter. He said that the contact tracing of both the mother and daughter is still going on.
On the doctor from Shillong Civil Hospital who was tested positive for COVID-19, the Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister said that they had discussed this case during the review meeting yesterday adding that they were not able to reveal the identity of the doctor since it was not yet confirmed.
Informing that the number of people who came into contact with this doctor will be more than 800 plus, he said, around 320 samples of the high-risk contacts of the doctor were collected and the results came out negative. According to him, the contact tracing of this doctor is still going on. He further informed that the OPD at Shillong Civil Hospital will be closed for at least one day adding that the OPD will again open after it has been properly sanitized.
Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister added that they are suspecting that the doctor might have contracted the virus while treating a BSF personnel who was critically ill and later passed away at NEIGRIHMS.
