Mizoram tightens Covid-19 inter-state border measures

AIZAWL | AUGUST 22, 2020:

To effectively contain the spread of COVID infections in the state, the Government of Mizoram issued an order to operate the inter-state borders with Assam and Tripura, only thrice a week from August 24, including the Lengpui airport.

The interstate borders; Kanhmun on the Mizoram- Tripura border and Vairengte towards Assam and the airport will operate only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as per the order.

Earlier, the state government had also banned the entry of trucks and other commercial vehicles carrying essential commodities, since August 7.

To date, the total tally of COVID positive stands at 903, with 483 active, and 420 cured.
