Meghalaya reports two more COVID-19 deaths

SHILLONG | SEPT 18, 2020:

The COVID-19 death toll in Meghalaya reached 34 after the deaths of two more individuals on September 18.

While addressing reporters, the Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman Warr, stated that 44-year-old Jamuna Sunar of Pinewood Hotel quarters, passed away at 9:20 am on September 18. He mentioned that she was undergoing treatment at Nazareth Hospital before she passed away.

On the same day, doctors at Nazareth declared 60-year-old Anjali Baruah of Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah as having been brought dead at 12:45 pm. According to Dr. Warr, her test results also came out positive for COVID-19. He further informed that the state reported 89 fresh cases, taking the total number of active cases to 1,976. In addition, 95 recoveries were reported on September 18 and the total number of recoveries now stands at 2,437.
