Per capita income, this state in Northeast India ranks second

AGARTALA | AUGUST 15, 2020:

Tripura ranked sixth in the country in terms of per capita income, Law minister and state Cabinet spokesperson Ratan Lal Nath told media on Friday.

Nath said, that during the Left front tenure, the GSDP was at 43,687 crores 80 lakhs as compared to Biplab Deb government at 49, 836 crores 89 lakhs at 2018-20, and increased to 55,358 crores eight lakhs in 2019-20.

The minister said the government plans to achieve 1.32 lakhs per capita income in 2020-21.

He said, "Tripura stands at 6th position in per capita income among all states whereas West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Rajasthan, are less than Tripura".

In Northeast India regarding per capita income, Tripura is now in the second position while Sikkim is in the first position, he added.
