Here’s a look at beauty queens who were dethroned for being pregnant

She is beautiful, considerate, poised, graceful, intelligent and smart. She is a 'Beauty Queen'. She wears the crown with utmost confidence and determination. What is expected of a beauty queen — to fulfill all that is expected of her but embrace motherhood during this period, and that's it; No more crown, no more title!

Here's a look at some of the beauty queens who were dethroned for being pregnant.

Tisha Heflin – Miss Universe Guam 1999

In 1999, the twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago served as the host country for Miss Universe. The competition was under spotlight when the 5'11" Tisha Heflin a beauty from the Pacific Island of Guam fell ill and was found to be pregnant had to pull out of the race. Her pregnancy paved way to the final 3 question. "If Miss Universe would have become pregnant during her reign, should she be allowed to continue as Miss Universe."

Vanessa Torres – Miss Universe Guam 2011

In 2011, Vanessa Torres the reigning Miss Guam Universe had to vacate her throne when she broke the rule of not getting pregnant during her reign. Lalaine Mercado who was adjudged runner up was elected the new beauty queen.

Brenda Robles – Miss Universe Puerto Rico 1994

When Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres transferred the crown of Miss Universe Puerto Rico to Brenda Robles, the pressure was on for the new queen to get back to back Miss Universe crowns for the country. Unfortunately, the Boricuan beauty queen did not succeed to enter the top 10 in Manila. During Brenda's reign, she got pregnant and was stripped of her Miss Puerto Rico title.

Oxana Fedorova – Miss Universe 2002

Beauty queens resigning and dethroning is not something that is elusive, but the dethronement of Miss Universe 2002 Oxana Fedorova from Russia is quite a mystery. The gorgeous lady created history when she won the Miss Universe title, but soon she was rumored to be pregnant. Nobody knows how much truth the news holds but she was dethroned four months later. Oxana stated that she voluntarily gave up her crown for personal reasons, mainly because she wanted to finish her law degree. Panama's Justine Pasek who was adjudged the first runner-up at the pageant was announced as the main winner.

Nicola Mimnagh – Miss United Kingdom International 2011

Miss Scotland 2010 Nicola Mimnagh was selected as Miss United Kingdom International 2011 after getting the highest placement in Miss World 2010 among the contestant from UK. However she had to withdraw from competing in Miss International after it was found out that she was pregnant. Her pregnancy was the reason why the United Kingdom did not participate in Miss International.

Ashley Harder – Miss New Jersey USA 2002

Ashley Harder was forced to return her crown after she admitted that she was expecting a child. Ashley who was all set to compete for Miss USA title resigned with immediate effect. Miss USA does not allow contestants who have children or be pregnant. The title was assumed by the first runner-up. She welcomed her first child, a daughter named Ava Marie on her 21st birthday.

Justlyn Ollivierre – Miss Easterval 2013

Justlyn Ollivierre who won the Miss Easterval title for Mayreau on her 18th birthday was dethroned after it become known that she was pregnant. At the pageant, she also won the title of Miss Photogenic, and Miss Talented. After Ollivierre was dethroned, first runner-up, Miss Barbados Heidi Barrow was adjudged the main winner.
